  • Design of a drone which is safe for indoor flight. The rotors are tilted in specific angles to enable forward flight without any pitch or yaw. Currently being 3-D-printed using a Nylon-6,6 variant. Apart from design, I am involved with software and control design of the drone.

  • Ground based Autonomous Vehicles still need to have steering assemblies. This is done so that option of manual driving is available at all times. Aim of this project was to design a light, quick-to-install steering assembly for a self-driving ground vehicle. The functional requirements were compatibility with all steering sizes and minimal maintenance.

  • Goal of this project was to design an everyday product to be manufactured via Injection Molding process. The class was asked to consider all possible design parameters with respect to product design, process costs, cycle times, quality of manufacturing, mold plates, choice of molding machine etc. Thus, undertake an end-to-end product development. The slots in the image act as marker holders.

Self-Locking Puzzles

  • A self-locking puzzle with twelve 3-D printed components. All of components are identical except one. Each component is unstable and cannot balance itself. But the insertion fit design creates a normal force in each x, y and z direction on each member. Thus making the structure not only stiff but stable.

Reducing deformations in a Cantilever

  • An under-development autonomous vehicle was undergoing performance testing. The team noticed lopsided weight distribution would cause deformations >10 cm in one of the structural member. A solution was needed to reduce deformations without changing any existing design.
